December 04th, 20164/12/2016 Resting woman, 53x82, mixed material, 2016  I found a peace of construction wood nearby. The colors seemed interesting so I decided to take it with me. While carefully scratching and examining it in my studio it suddenly become alive and out come a woman.
December 04th, 20164/12/2016 Soft Heart, 60x50, oil 2016 In this cruel world a soft heart is not weakness, it is strength.  When the nordic nigth ends and the sun comes up next time, you will fly my dear friend. The nordic night is 51 days long in Lapland.
Since the dawn of time life in Lapland has been possible only on nature's terms. I visited a snow-free Lapland for the first time this fall. Although I knew the colors of Lapland, I was surprised by their strength. Was it the red color of the stone rust or caused by the fungus. The colors appear strong, the yellow leaves, on the grass the beautiful ocher. The barrenness of the Lapland mountains was impressive. There, too, I saw awesome colors, rocks, mosses gray-green and red tones and strong red in dwarf shrubs. Sámi colorful braids seems to repeat the same colors as the African cultures? Kun kaamos on ohi ja aurinko nousee uudestaan, on sinun aikasi lentää rakas ystäväni. Elämä Lapissa on aikojen alusta sujunut ainoastaan luonnon ehdoilla. Kävin syksyllä ensimmäistä kertaa Lapissa lumettomana aikana. Vaikka tiesinkin ruskan väreistä, yllätyin värien vahvuudesta. Oliko punaisen kiven väri ruostetta vai jonkin sienen aiheuttamaa. Värit näkyvät valtavan vahvoina, keltaiset lehdet ja kaunis okra heinikossa. Myös tuntureiden karuus teki vaikutuksen. Sielläkin oli mahtavia värejä, kivien sammaleiden harmaan vihreät ja punaiset sävyt ja varpujen vahva punainen.
